The Office of Anti-Racism & Gender Equality was created as a part of the Advocacy Center at the Episcopal Church Center.  The Rev. Jayne Oasin stands ready to assist you as you seek to begin or continue the ministry of anti-racism in your province, diocese, or local church.

  • To schedule an anti-racism training for your diocese, seminary, organization or committee conducted by certified anti-racism trainers
  • To schedule a training of trainer workshop for persons wishing to become certified trainers.  *Note – only those persons who have previously participated in the full, anti-racism training workshop may be considered to be trained as trainers.
  • For diocesan convention keynote addresses or presentations
  • For information regarding implementation of General Convention Resolutions
  • For advice about forming an anti-racism committee in your diocese

** Save the Date--National Updates on the Status of Equal Opportunity and the deceptive “Civil Rights Initiatives” **

Tuesday, September 9th  2008, 3-4pm EST/12-1pm PST

Please join the Impact 209 Coalition and the Fulfilling the Dream Fund for a national updates conference call on the status of Ward Connerly’s anti-equal opportunity ballot initiatives in Arizona, Colorado and Nebraska.  On this call, you’ll hear updates from:

  • Representatives from Protect Arizona’s Freedom, Nebraskans United, and Colorado Unity – the state-based coalitions working to protect racial and gender equity;
  • NAACP LDF on the status of the legal challenge to the AZ ballot initiative;
  • The Leadership Conference on Civil Rights on the status of national efforts to preserve equal opportunity;
  • National allies working to defend and preserve equal opportunity. 

You’ll also learn about what you can do to support state and national efforts to promote racial and gender equality.  We hope you will join us!

The Service commemorating the Day of Repentance will be held October 3 – 4, 2008, a two-day Solemn Observance where the Episcopal Church, in accordance with General Convention Resolution A123 (2006), will publicly apologize for its involvement in the institution of Transatlantic Slavery.
